WHITE VILLAGES

The rivers that descend through the south face of Sierra Nevada form beautiful landscapes of inclined slopes, that the white towns that inhabit it, scale, conforming their personality of narrow streets and steep stairs. Its most recent history is characterized by the departure of the Moors, who left many of their traditions and customs, as well as terraced cultivation, with ingenious irrigation systems, whose architecture lasts until today.

In our visit with driver and private guide, we can get into this wonderful landscape and its villages, such as Pampaneira, perhaps the most picturesque, where in some of its craft shops are woven the rustic carpets of La Alpujarra. A highly recommended stop will be the village of Trévelez, where we will see an authentic ham dryer, which of course we will try, paired with some of the wines of the area.

We will have lunch, in one of our selected restaurants, to taste the specialties of the area: The varied Alpujarreño dish, the musts and the sweets. After lunch we can visit a chocolate factory and return back to Granada.

CENTENNIAL ARTISANS IN GRANADA

In the mulberry forests of the Alpujarras, the worms responsible for producing the coveted silk were woven, woven by the skillful hands of the Muslim artisans, which were then marketed in the European kingdoms through the ports of Genoa and Venice. GRANADA FOOD TOUR

We will start by entering a small shop where you can try Serrano ham cured in the Alpujarras of Granada, south of the Sierra Nevada and pairing it with subtle wines from the area. We will continue between streets with history and beautiful corners, where the products of the region will make their appearance in small pots where each one is taking according to their tastes. Granada is full of terraces. Maybe we end up in some, with a guitar in the background, letting our thoughts fly while we admire the beautiful Alhambra.

GRANADA ARAB

We will start at the Royal Chapel, where the Catholic Monarchs rest, by express will. Isabel and Fernando. Artificers of the reconquest of Spain and promoters of the discovery of America. We can continue to the Mirador de San Nicolás, with the best views of the Alhambra and the entire monumental complex, as well as being a good place to start tasting the city’s gastronomy.

CAVIAR AND CHAMPAGNE

The first caviar certified as ecological in the world is generated between the mountains of Granada, Sierra Nevada, since 1963. Because on the Spanish coast, until the seventies of the nineteenth century, sturgeons climbed their rivers to reproduce. Even in the 30s there was caviar production in the nearby Guadalquivir River. Even Miguel de Cervantes mentioned caviar in his work El Quijote, back in 1615.
The caviar, always exotic and desired, is generated in natural waters of the sierra, coming from the melting, pure and crystalline, where the females need about 16 years of breeding. Twice as long as most of the usual market caviar. A real treasure!
Upon arrival, we will make an exclusive visit to the facilities, being able to see sturgeons in all phases of growth, while our expert explains the processes of breeding and production.
Then we will sit down to receive a caviar tasting class, attending to the varieties that are produced in this sturgeon sanctuary. We will accompany it with Champagne to have the perfect pairing, and we will finish with a sip of vodka to remember its origins.

FLAMENCO SHOW IN SACROMONTE CAVE

At La Cueva La Rocío our show is called a “Zambra gitana” and it is a festival where the artists interact with you, and where you can feel the vibration of the “taconeo” under your feet, get immerse in the Rhythm, the tradition, and the most authentic gypsy culture. Moreover you can enjoy traditional dishes elaborated with love and excellent quality.

A real show in private, in a cave of the, par excellence, gypsy neighborhood of Sacromonte. Here the houses are sculpted in the mountain itself, providing, both in winter and in summer, a constant temperature of 21 degrees. All of them are very ornate and contrary to what they might seem, they are very cozy and silent. Less when dancing flamenco !. Yes, flamenco in all its purity and with all its roots. The sound of the guitar, the palms and the heels, in harmony with the movements of the dancer or bailaor. Meanwhile, you can enjoy your drink, or if you prefer participating, you will always be invited.
