In 1970 its world-renowned restaurant was born on the slopes of Mount Igueldo, just 10 minutes from the City Center, and since 2006 it has three Michelin Stars under the management of Pedro Subijana. The maximum expression of Basque Cuisine and the New Avant-Garde style are fused in its dishes and make us consider it a must in any visit to San Sebastian. Within its menu, the classic dishes of Akelarre allow us to know the most typical ones of its cuisine, while with the proposals Aranori and Bekarki we enjoy their most recent recipes.
The chef’s desire to excel led him to expand the project, with the opening of the hotel with the same name in 2017. This way, Subijana creates a complete experience in which the main goal is always the customer’s total satisfaction.
The hotel has 22 rooms in three categories: Double Sea View, Deluxe Sea View and Akelarre Suite. In addition to all the amenities offered by the other categories, its two suites have a small heated pool overlooking the sea. Pedro Subijana ends the materialization of his dream with a space dedicated to comfort and relaxation. Its 800 square meters of spa, with three treatment cabins, sauna, steam bath and heated pool, pamper our body and mind in a privileged location overlooking the sea. The circuit ends in a relaxation area where you can enjoy a tea on one of the sun loungers in front of the Cantabrian Sea.
